Local SIM (from day 2)
Airport kiosk (Entel) or WOM store. No RUT required for tourists.

Getting a local SIM in Chile
🏪Where to buy
Official kiosks at Santiago Arturo Merino Benítez Airport (SCL) arrivals hall — Entel, Claro and Movistar all have counters there. In the city: Entel, WOM, Claro and Movistar stores in Costanera Center, Mall Plaza Egaña and other major malls. Also sold at Farmacias Ahumada and Cruz Verde pharmacy chains across the country.
📄Documents needed
Passport required. Under Chilean law, all SIM cards must be registered to an identity document. Operators handle the registration at the point of sale — they scan your passport and activate the SIM in your name. This takes 5–10 minutes. No local tax ID (RUT) is required for tourists.
